Jeff Waters, a long time reader and supporter of mondaydots has made his first dot video! You can find the original blog post on his blog, Life up Front. Jeff uses a great story to help the viewer (aimed at the Computer Aided Engineering, project management, and new product development audience) understand the need for the Space Claim product he sells.
Really nice work Jeff! Keep it up and I look forward to your next dot video!

Thanks Jeff. I'll share a little of the process I went through, too, as it might help others getting started. First, I bought a Mac and Keynote and went hog wild with complicated Magic Move tricks. Spent way too much time on that and ended up throwing it all away.
Then I sat down and wrote the story in text form. Then I sketched out a couple pages of storyboard to match the text. Then, finally, I went into Keynote and laid those out.
Basically, this means that it was more effective to match the visuals to the story, then to try to match a story to (slicker) visuals. The end result is less exciting visually than what I was originally playing with... but it works much better.
I recommend that approach.
